SERVICES
Badger Prairie Needs Network is more than just a food pantry. We offer a full menu of services that go beyond food assistance and seeks to provide resources to improve all facets of people’s lives. It’s part of our mission to end hunger by getting to the root causes of poverty.
Services We Offer
Food Assistance
We offer a grocery store style shopping experience that allows our guests to select the food they want for their family. Our pantry is stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, frozen meat, prepared meals, grains, shelf-stable groceries and snacks. We also offer personal essentials including diapers, bar soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, and toilet paper when available.
Community Meals
A free hot lunch is offered on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month in the Kasieta Center. Doors open at 10:45 for coffee and lunch is served from 11:30am–12:45pm. A variety of delicious entrees, sides, salads, and desserts are served buffet-style. Everyone is welcome and no reservations are required. Leftovers to take home starting at 12:30 pm!
Career Training Opportunities
We partner with a variety of organizations to provide career training and educational opportunities in the Kasieta Center. Career fairs are hosted in conjunction with a variety of regional workforce development groups.
Cooking Clubs
We partner with organizations including UW-Health to offer nutrition education to improve the health and wellness of our community.
Legal Advocacy
Volunteer attorneys offer free legal advocacy through referrals from the Dane County JFF social workers and local clergy. Legal help is generally focused on landlord/tenant disputes, predatory lending abuses, and senior housing issues. These services may be limited. Talk to a JFF social worker for more information.
